Wealth, according to Webster, means abundant possessions or resources. This could mean an abundance of about anything.
However, I’d say most of us, when we talk about wealth, are referring to an abundance of money.
But monetary wealth can be a relative thing – what constitutes wealth for one person may be entirely different from what it means to someone else.
So I guess the question is, what does wealth mean to you?
- Total financial freedom for you and your family – no more JOB
- Extra income to build a “rainy day “ fund, take that special vacation, fund your children’s education or your retirement
- Have enough income so that there is money left at the end of the month rather than the other way around
In these hard economic times, how do you accumulate the wealth you want? The old advice of “get a good education, get a good job and you’re set for life “ doesn’t work anymore, does it? What to do?
Well, there are several options, none of which may be practical for you and may only be a temporary fix.
- Find a better paying job
- Get a second job
- Your spouse gets a job – if they don’t already have one.
I suspect what you are looking for is something you can do in your spare time that will build you a dependable second income. It would be even better if in time you could replace your regular income and not have to worry about layoffs, salary cuts, and all the other hassles that come with a regular job.
How do you do that? One of the best ways is to start a home based business. Does that thought scare you or fill you with excitement? Or leave you with more questions than answers?
